Enhanced Outpatient Program

What is the Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP)?

Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP) treatment serves as a bridge from more intensive treatment programs. For example, EOP may be a step-down program from psychiatric inpatient or residential treatment facilities to meet the needs of an individual or also decrease the need for more intensive (restrictive) treatment. The EOP service is appropriate for adults (18+ years old).

EOP is more intensive than traditional outpatient services and offers flexible treatment options including psychiatric doctor and nurse appointments for medication management, individual/family therapy, and/or group therapy. EOP treatment offers more frequent appointments which supports the individual’s recovery process. Treatment will be person-centered and medically necessary to meet the individual’s needs and treatment goals.

What to Expect with the Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP)?

EOP admission is based on an intake assessment process to gather information about the individual’s current symptoms, treatment history, seriousness of risk level, and trauma assessment. The EOP treatment program uses a variety of treatment modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Informed Care, Family Systems, and Brief Treatment Therapy.

Individuals receiving EOP will be seen by a psychiatrist every 4-6 weeks and by a nurse weekly. Individuals will also receive several individual and/or group therapy sessions a week. As the individual’s symptoms improve, appointments will gradually be decreased and the individual will be transition into a traditional outpatient service and/or natural/community supports.
